Blood on Washington's Hands: The Price of Israeli Incitement and the Occupation's Crimes

Washington, D.C., witnessed a crime that shook diplomatic circles, as two Israelis were killed in a shooting incident. Pro-Israel media outlets, such as the Jerusalem Post, were quick to link the incident to "anti-Semitism" and "incitement," ignoring the root causes of the ongoing violence in the region, for which Israel bears a significant portion of responsibility.

What happened in Washington, regardless of its horrific nature, must be understood in a much broader context than just an individual "terrorist act." It is a logical consequence of the growing anger over Israel's "repressive policies," its "brutal genocide in the Gaza Strip," and its daily "human rights violations" against Palestinians. When a country promotes organized violence as part of its military and security policy, and practices killing, arrest, and displacement against a people under occupation, it is not surprising that these manifestations are mirrored elsewhere.

American Double Standards: Turning a Blind Eye to the Occupation's Crimes

The United States claims to be "the safest haven for the diaspora in history" and delivers pompous speeches about "human rights," while blatantly turning a blind eye to the "Palestinian blood" shed daily by the Israeli occupation. How can Washington preach human rights while unconditionally funding and supporting a state that commits war crimes and practices apartheid against another people? This American boast of democracy has become "drowned in a sea of blood," not only in Washington, but also on the streets of Gaza and the West Bank, which are being besieged and relentlessly bombarded.

Zionist mouthpieces call on Washington to "prosecute this act as terrorism" and to "choke the digital oxygen" of those who celebrate these acts. However, they never call for holding Israeli leaders accountable for the "state terrorism" they practice against Palestinians, nor do they demand an end to Israeli incitement against Arabs and Palestinians, which underlies the ongoing violence.  The “campus impunity” he denounces should be compared to the impunity enjoyed by the Israeli military and settlers for their crimes.
