The International Legal and Human Rights Conference in Support of the Palestinian People, under the slogan "The Scales of Justice for Palestine," commenced with broad official and human rights participation.

The conference aimed to highlight the crimes committed against the Palestinian people, break the siege imposed on them, and strengthen the international legal process for holding Zionist officials accountable.

Ambassador Abdullah Sabri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, affirmed that the convening of this conference comes at a critical historical juncture, as the international system witnesses a dangerous retreat from the principles of justice and equity. He said, "I am honored to be with you at this international conference, and I stand in contemplation before the collapsing international landscape. What the Gaza Strip is witnessing in terms of massacres constitutes a blatant challenge to all international laws and conventions."

He pointed out that the international silence regarding these events represents a resounding moral failure, necessitating broad legal and popular action to restore the balance of justice.

Sabri explained that the brutal genocidal war on Gaza has exposed the international community's double standards regarding the Palestinian cause and unveiled its malicious face.

He spoke of the honorable and positive stances and actions taken by global public opinion in various capitals and universities that stood with Palestine and against the brutal genocidal crimes in Gaza, indicating that this momentum formed a fundamental pillar for a global alliance to support the rights of the Palestinian people.

Sabri noted that the conflict with the Zionist entity and its American backer requires the concerted efforts of all legal and media actors. He emphasized that the conference stems from a sense of humanitarian, religious, and moral responsibility, and is a response to the directives of Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi regarding the necessity and obligation to take action to support and defend the Palestinian people by all available means.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Justice, Judge Ibrahim al-Shami, stressed the importance of documenting crimes and violations according to international legal frameworks and preparing comprehensive files that can be presented before the relevant courts and judicial bodies. He emphasized that the battle today is no longer solely military, but rather a battle of awareness, law, and humanitarian responsibility.

Al-Shami explained that the conference, which brings together all the world's free people, comes within the framework of the humanitarian, religious, and ethical stance that Yemen presents regarding the central issue of the Islamic and Arab nation, Palestine. It also reflects another aspect of Yemen's deep commitment to the cause and its tireless efforts to support it in all fields and at all regional and international forums.

He considered the convening of the conference a foundational step towards a continuous global struggle that will lead to the unification of international legal and human rights efforts into a single framework for prosecuting Zionist criminals, activating international justice, exposing the occupation's false narrative, and affirming the legitimacy of the Palestinian people's struggle to defend themselves and reclaim their usurped land by all legitimate means guaranteed by divine laws and international conventions.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Omar al-Bukhaiti explained that the media plays a pivotal role in dismantling misleading narratives and revealing the truth to global public opinion. He pointed out that the crimes committed against civilians in Gaza represent a true test of the credibility of international institutions.

Al-Bukhaiti emphasized the importance of holding the conference in supporting and advocating for the Palestinian cause, considering it the most important and prominent central issue for all the peoples of the region and the world.

He stressed the necessity of legal and human rights cooperation among various free partners worldwide to generate public opinion regarding the injustice suffered by the Palestinian people and to prosecute those responsible for the war crimes and genocide perpetrated against the people of the Gaza Strip.

Dr. al-Bukhaiti affirmed the crucial role of the media in raising awareness about the issues facing the Arab world, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, and in supporting and advocating for it, thus refocusing efforts on supporting our brothers and sisters in Palestine.

He commended Yemen's honorable stance, under the leadership of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, in supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause through all available means, and the sacrifices and martyrs offered by the Yemeni people on the path to Jerusalem.

The conference issued a statement emphasizing the need to activate international mechanisms to protect the Palestinian people and hold accountable those responsible for crimes and violations committed by Israel and the states that support and assist it, thus ensuring the principle of no impunity.

It was agreed to establish the World Union of Legal and Human Rights Professionals for the Support of the Palestinian People, headquartered in Sana'a, the capital of Yemen. Its charter was adopted, establishing it as an independent international legal framework focused on unifying the efforts of legal professionals and human rights advocates worldwide and coordinating legal initiatives aimed at protecting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in accordance with international law.

The conference participants called upon all legal professionals, human rights advocates, and freedom-loving people around the world to join the Union and actively contribute to it, believing that justice does not expire and that supporting the oppressed is a shared humanitarian duty.

The conference recommendations affirmed the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state in accordance with international law and Security Council resolutions. They also held the international community legally and morally responsible for protecting the Palestinian people and ensuring that war criminals are not allowed to escape punishment.

The conference, which was attended by the head of the media department at the Presidential Office, Zaid Al-Gharasi, and the Dean of the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Ahmed Al-Imad, witnessed participation, discussions, and legal and human rights interventions from activists and experts from more than 45 countries, who agreed that the Palestinian cause will remain a central focus in the global human rights struggle, and that justice, even if delayed, will not be lost with the passage of time.
