The "Global Resilience Flotilla" Approaches Gaza on its Historic Journey to Break the Blockade
Report by عبده بغيل. Saturday, September 21, 2025
In clear defiance of the circumstances and difficulties, the "Global Resilience Flotilla" continues its heroic sea voyage, paving the Mediterranean for the twentieth consecutive day, aiming to break the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip and deliver a message of hope and global human solidarity.
The flotilla, comprising fifty ships, set sail from the port of Barcelona, Spain, on a challenging journey, continuing its path through solidarity stops in Tunisia and Sicily, Italy. The ships are currently heading toward their final destination, the shores of Gaza, crossing international waters between Italy and Greece.
Although some of the larger ships faced technical challenges that forced them to temporarily halt their journey, their determination has not wavered. The sailing ships, including the "Shirin" and "Anas Al-Sharif" ships, which joined from Tunisia, determinedly completed their journey, racing against time to reach the Gaza Strip amid the deteriorating humanitarian conditions.
The participants emphasized that the fleet's delayed arrival was a result of the climatic, logistical, and technical challenges of operating fifty ships simultaneously. They indicated that this would not deter them from completing their mission. They believe that every passing day exacerbates the humanitarian catastrophe and increases the number of victims from bombing and starvation, making their arrival an urgent necessity.
